A Spice of India at Vedas
Last update: 25.01.12 First posted: 25.01.12 by Sally in Learning PlateSo there we all are on a Monday afternoon in the Vedas Restaurant, a Food Inspirer, eleven eager people wanting to learn about curries and not forgetting our lovely chef for the afternoon Mosh,

and what he doesn’t know about curry, well he just knows it all.
Before you could say onion bhaji, we were in that kitchen chopping and dicing. A pot was put on the stove and suddenly there was a waft of spicy aroma floating through the air.
For our starter we mixed onions, spices, flour and eggs for our bhaji.

Then Mosh tantalised us with spices which he added to the pot for the chicken curry, John was in charge of keeping it stirred

To cover all tastes a vegan version was also made.
For me the highlight of the afternoon (a part from the tasting bit) was seeing everyone making lamb and mint kebabs (mint from Mary Clears garden) on the longest skewer rods I have ever seen, which were then placed in the tandoori oven.
Of course the hard bit for us all was at the end when we had to taste the food, I know it a hard job but it had to be done.
Mosh was fantastic, we had a great afternoon the food was tasty and we didn’t even have to do the washing-up, excellent.
