Busy woman’s blog part two
Yippee a productive weekend. One of those weekends when the job list shrinks, did loads of those jobs that were outstanding .
We went to do the canal side bed early on and met dozens of very serious walkers marching along the canal, the slower ones stopped to chat, the veg was looking
great, we picked up rubbish and planted mint and cleared a new space.
We are getting a new sign made by the totally locally people, see the first draft

Chris Sands designed it take a look at his website You Are Here Creative

Here is a nice picture of pickers up at the Fearney Lee growing site, we went up there to shovel soil into sacks and get plants ready for the big visit ,
got them in the nick of time as they were drying out despite the rain.

We made a raised bed at the railway station to commemorate the kindest ticket man Reg, just before he died we asked him if he would like us to remember him with a veg bed and he said he would like broccoli,

Hebden Bridge train group are also making a Reg bed!
Two policemen came along from British transport police doing security checks for the visit; they acted if it was perfectly normal to see people on a Sunday digging up bit of the car park!

Spot the veg in the church planting, looking good up there,
Unitarian Church veg
two weddings yesterday so the old place is now getting plenty of use. Visit the Unitarian Church Website

Entered the landscape awards, with trepidation as these things involve a lot of work and our group is not really so fussy about winning things unless its money for planting stuff or doing our work.

Pam sorted out all the stuff we need help with for Prince Charles visit, trying to have something to show at the end of the season is a challenge that we will rise to. We made lists for the Conference, the Market Town project, Rosie Boycotts visit and the WWOOFERS AGM.
