I have had trouble finding time to blog, what with sunshine, watering, working and playing in the yard building things

Where to start?
No telly means more time? Rubbish it’s not true.
No telly means playing out for longer, it means I am cut out of a lot of work place talk about telly programmes, no telly means more radio? I have managed to loose the plot with the Archers, I now prefer birdsong.
The agriculture show was amazing, we can do miracles with very little the guess the herb activity was a fine example, you can down load it from our site, here
Here is a picture of the man we are counting on to educate our secondary school kids,

please note first baby due soon so he has added impetus to create a green safer world!

I made a growing pram and baby with thyme for hair, a great crowd pleaser;

Any conversation about growing will do for me.
The tent was busy all day, look at these proud women behind a fabulous display.

It would be a poor do if I did not mention big boy Napoleon,

he has become a dad again , the teacher telling me the story nearly had me crying , apparently at home time they saw a crack in an egg and a gang of cleaners and teachers stood for two hours willing the chick out of the egg like a partner waiting for the birth of a child, they said the tension and wait was awful and the feeling of helplessness, wanting to pull the chick out, and help the baby out. I wish I could see a chick hatching, another thing on the list to do before I die.
Big lad has grown spurs, huge whopping things like thumbs!
It’s been so hot, I have given them a tin bath filled with sand to muck about in.
Having the bear café so close means the birds get some good grub, they are olive connoisseurs and also like, ciabata, cous cous, taboleh and wild rice.

Look what happens when growing rules your life;

even the steps have sprouted corn!

Check out the bench, no chance of sitting on it!

The peas Fred got for his birthday are doing their thing,

pea Robinson is the name a special old sort.

Lettuce –I love it , so do lots of others,

my neighbour frank says he sees all sorts of people picking from my garden, that’s fab, the thought of strangers eating stuff I have grown gives me a thrill, how weird is that?

This is a picture of my favourite shape, an arty sort of a lettuce.
We have been busy getting ready for in bloom judging,

this year money is tight so I bought some plants from Tods best charity shop.

Yesterday was a good busy day, ST Dunstans charity for the blind at 8.30am then the upper Calder Valley renaissance review conference in the morning where we took the growing pram to greet the delegates, John Thompson was really pleased with the amazing mission we are on. Check out his website. www.jtp.co.uk
He had some great ideas to help the planet and more particularly our beautiful valley.
After the morning session we legged it to the park in Hebden for the hand made parade –check out www.hebdenbridge.co.uk
We were expanding on our new ways for sharing/working, The Bear café and the Vedas restaurant share a tent with our info stand,

two very different businesses sharing a space and resources.

We want to explore a more collaborative model to help businesses to survive.
Daisy did her fantastic cakes .
We took our every egg matter stall and wheeled the pram out again, they both received a lot interest in the town of very clever beautiful people.

Not being rude but does this tent not look a little lonely?

This is my new mix, stuff from the girls and Napoleon and other secrets,

you can see the results later.

Estelle and I have develop a watering system that makes the best of our joint skills , she does the hard bit of kneeling and lifting!
We are doing well with our garden and maybe Estelle will post a picture of our gorgeous plot.

Wonderful things keep coming to me, two whopping big solar panels and expansion tanks and other gubbins that go with it, we know a good home for them…….
Look at these dollies!

My sister made them for me, the dollies remind me of my friend Tarique’s cousin and how people say to me “how do you know its her” when we call good morning to each other, I haven’t got an answer that’s clever or kind.
Here are some pics of Tariques sisters garden,

Nice veg don’t you think?
I offered him the services of Napoleon he declined because he want a proper match for his hens, Rhode Island reds .

he has gone gardening poultry/ barmy.

The coriander king!

Growing
Some things grow too fast,
like last years Cid look how he has grown!

that’s him yesterday, wearing some fancy shoes he has been given. Another of my passions is the amount of baby stuff in the country, we never ever would need to buy anything if people shared it out.
So much stuff hardly ever gets worn, just check out those shoes!
