Busy woman’s blog

Phew what a wonderful week , rain much needed and welcome, could do with more
I want to share some some of the great stuff I got this week.
First up ….my very own garlic

And how about this fantastic thing, a giant cup and saucer?

This is how I spent a lonely evening indoors! Making bunting for 12 market stalls. Not so good and the machine got hot and had to cool down.

They are carrots…. abstract of course, this is Todmorden

We had a fantastic Action for Market Towns conference,
the whole Place looked great with our usual low tech approach to decorating.

We heard the most amazing inspiring stories and you will find links to them all here

The busy women’s man got a parking ticket when unloading the plants , banners and bunting , are well rejoice in all the times we did not get one!
The food was all local and we were helped by the Jobs for the future team,

the whole day went without a single hitch as Pam always says there are angels at our shoulders.

Now is this not the best cup and saucer in the world ?

We are people with out matching china , not the kind of home that has smart new stuff , certainly not cups that cost a fiver!! Just had to have it , its huge and very old its words on the back are so fantastic, it just had to be bought , really a fiver for this ..its worth it .

Let the wealthy and the great
Roll in splendour and in state
I envy them not I declare it
I eat my own lamb
My own chickens and ham
Shear my own fleece and wear it
I have my own lawns I have bowers
I have fruits I have flowers
The lark is my morning alarmer
So jolly boys now
Heres God speed the plough
Long life and success to the farmer

And in a fancy scroll it says Industry produceth wealth!
No one is going to drink from my new cup!!!!!!!

And what about this for a cook book

Here is Napoleon trying to look innocent, caught trying to lead an escape
party, digging the shale tunnel!

And the roof is growing well.

This is the last area of garden that doesn’t have edibles planted

here is a picture of the new pea support donated by Joe,

she sells these lovely things that she makes in Tod at the Bear whole food shop

Spent some time working with the in bloom team, making the town is look good

Sunday we had some chance to do some great stuff outside, we got the Quakers wild garlic in.

And planted masses of veg at the Unitarian garden.

The bee platform finished at last and ready for a swarm.

A woman came with broccoli plants which was quite spooky, Pam and I had just visited the hospice an hour earlier to ask the best ticket man in the world if it was ok to make a Reg patch at the train stations he worked at , he said he would like that and he wanted broccoli. You can be assured dearest Reg that we will build the finest Reg beds in the world for your veg.
Ira and Obadiah came in full knights gear ready to slay dragons at a moments notice.

After that the man and me went to the waters edge garden and stuck some broccoli in there.

Amazing the speed the kale has grown, we noticed the trees are being well looked after getting trained up the wall, a name for it I know but cant spell it!

The huge Angelica had to come out, we shall save the seeds.
A man on a barge offered to water the steel containers, he insisted on shouting over to our side, more smiling than understanding went on, what we did hear we liked.
some regular pickers chatting over the pea bed,

we had a great discussion on who is growing what and then went to see what was growing down the road.
