I am a survivor and have a great plumber !
I survived the week from hell with no boiler, I met a plumber in lidl car park who came and stayed till late at night to put in the new boiler. Super star Chris.
So that backlog of dishes and dirty clothes has been done, and gee I am still on a high at the thought of hot water..
Prince stuff getting done all week, yes its silly to make such a fuss, it is like cleaning the house before going on holiday, but it is so nice to come home too.
When we have guests they get the best sheets and towels and I try to avoid the manky chipped plates, it’s the same with a prince, give him the best, show off a bit and when the brouhaha is over stand back and say what a lovely town we live in.
At the train station this morning;
I took my weekend guests and daughters to plant the 8 window boxes

with a promise of a big breakfast for a reward,

it was a rare old site, a lorry and 5 men doing the car park, ticket man cleaning up, painters and decorators doing the waiting room.
Regs memorial beds were all planted up by John and Chris, Prince wont see them but we know if Reg was alive he would have been tickled pink to have the royal train parked up, so its really good to know his bed is all done lovely, the ticket man told me when Reg died they wrote in the station day diary, “A legend has left us”
We have new benches on the platforms and painted bike sheds, all looks lovely.
Last night on Fielden wharf we cleaned up the surrounding tow path and planted chives (thank you who ever left them on my doorstep)

My guest did the backbreaking work of filling buckets from the canal to water the beds, a man called out from the other bank that he would do that side, thank you –stranger.

The new black boxes look really great with the new lettering , tomorrow I go and get the new signs from Halifax.
The chap from the take away came out and asked did we want food or drinks,

he said he has a look at the garden everyday and I agreed on a coriander crop next year, we smelled and tasted all the mints, afterwards we regretted not asking for a curry.
Today was Incredible edible gardening Sunday, we had a great turn out. It was a gamble to have every first Sunday of the month as a space to allow people to have a tour, try gardening and meet people.
Slowly it has built up, today it reflected our community, people of all ages and abilities learning new things, taking risks, and having a laugh.

From babies to pensioners,

people with different abilities and motivations. Lots of dogs and even a baby frog.
Estelle did a tour with people from Richmond in North yorkshire who had a wonderful time.

The hard men and women sorted out a big fire and the compost, new star Shelia got down and dirty with our veg beds. thankyou all the kids who chopped and pruned and never bled once.
Wes was on hand to show off our bees,

check out his new Wes Paul Bee site. We had hedge cutters extraordinare, a remarkable hedge deserves a good cut.
The day was sunny and warm, the smell of woodsmoke and chirping of kids what more could you want.
People have been very generous this week, heres to you Marrianne for the 20 jars of jam made befor you packed for your holiday.
Thank you James Page and your friend from Jute bags for the huge gift of bags with our logo on, and thankyou for paying for the brochure rework, done by Andrew Whittle
Thank you Chris Sands from Totally Locally for the Todmorden newsletter, the signs for the new gardens and sharing a stall with us on the big day.

I salute you paul Clarke for getting the printing done Buckshee.

Pit stop , you made us a cow and now you have helped again , we love you.
Most of all I want to say thank you for the joy of working in a team who know that there is no I in TEAM and no point in winging , the jobs need doing and they will be done. …………
This blog would have more lovely pictures trouble is the ipad has been lent out , I am lost without it now.
