Ferney Lee really is incredible

It was pouring down today when I called in at Ferney Lee Care Home today, the incredible volunteers work here every Monday rain or shine, now that is dedication.
In January we are going to have a plotting and planning meeting where we all get together to choose what plants they will raise in the greenhouse for our spring planting in the town centre beds.

This will be a nice snug place for seedlings early next year.

Right now it’s being planted up with winter veg to extend the growing season.

The weather this year has been horrendous with none stop rain but in spite of all that the community beds aren’t looking bad.
.
Come spring more volunteers will be needed at Ferney Lee, so if you are that end of Tod, or just fancy helping growing at Ferney Lee care home this may be for you.
If you are someone who likes to get stuck in to more heavy work and don’t mind mud and muck you don’t need to wait, there is work for you now. just email John on jm.stewart47@btinternet.com
