Today was cold but so enjoyable.

The thought of showing around a large group on my own had me more than a little nervous, the email had said 16, then 22 and when they arrived they were 25, gulp!
But I needn’t have worried, it was wonderful, we were so obviously all on the same wavelength, and they forgave me my slip ups. I could not have asked for a nicer group of people to show around our town.

We started with the station beds and discovered that the raised beds on Longfield can be seen from there too. We then went down to the Health Centre and the planting there is looking good in spite of this prolonged spell of cold weather. The group took lots of photos and asked lots of questions as we walked, all very relevant, I could even answer most of them.
We went from there along to the Ormerod, and the college raised beds where the nursery group now have a veg bed. Christchurch grave yard was next the new crop of runner beans is trying hard to grow, some warm weather would be so helpful right now.
Then the herb garden and the Police station and head back to the Unitarian

for a warming hot drink and a few words from Pam and a slide show presentation and Q & A with Mary, grown up questions, the kind I stumble over answering, but Mary, Pam and Nick are so good at.
Where did the morning go? It’s already time for our new friends from South Yorkshire to leave us and go and have some lunch.
But not before I take a group photo of these incredible people.

Some of the group are going to visit again for our food festival, we look forward to seeing them again.

Thanks for coming guys, we hope it was useful and fun, do keep us posted about your growing initiatives, they are sure to be Incredible.

And when they got back they gave us all a wave
