Incredible Edible Lancaster
Last update: 6.02.12 First posted: 6.02.12 by Estelle inWe are very excited to Welcome Incredible Edible Lancaster
These new members of the incredible family are already doing great things.
They have been given the go ahead by the council to work on the green spaces in two council estates in Lancaster and are also doing a few propaganda gardening events around the city! They have a list of around 70 volunteers which is growing steadily. They are also working with another food growing project that has donated a nursery plot temporarily for all the plants and trees they are being given.
In the next few weeks there will be a website and there is already a FaceBook group here
And as if that wasn’t enough here is their first ever pamphlet

We nurture nature!
We believe in
• Food for free for all
• Food for us and food for nature
• Food for the future
We shall
• Create a community garden of Lancaster
• Grow our skills, grow together, grow better
• Garden abandoned land with food and flowers
How to join us
• If you eat, you’re in!
We’re not just any project, we’re a local project made up of local people nurturing neglected land and planting open access community gardens so that everyone can gather food for free. Much more than a few people growing vegetables, we care passionately about our communities, our well-being, our environment, the right-here right-now, and the future. We can build a kinder, greener, healthier community. The time is ripe, come and join in!
How does our garden grow? We do the groundwork – on the ground and in our community, we talk, share, work and grow together. We aim for the transformation of Lancaster into an oasis filled with local food and beautiful sights.
We start small but have lots of partners coming on board and we can already see that this shared vision can become a reality, and we invite everyone in Lancaster to become a part of it. We are affiliated to Incredible Edible Todmorden and share their principles and aims.
Say it with food and say it with flowers!
