Incredible kindness greets Santa Express
Last update: 17.12.12 First posted: 17.12.12 by Estelle in BlogsThe train now standing at platform 1
is the Pennistone Line Santa Express
A lot of kindness went into making things incredible for the special trains arrival.
generous people donated books, taking them straight to the free library in the waiting room and topping up the shelves.

A lovely new bed with a big luxurious cushion was made for the station cat

Tables were set up on the platform and wonderful weed fritters prepared by Helena,

The Three Valleys Gospel Choir turned out on a cold morning and did exercises to warm bodies and voices before the train came in

Todmorden Art Group were very kind and Jack came in early to make sure the gallery was dressed for the occasion and looking its best, so by the time the Santa express arrived all was ready for the 200 passengers visiting the station
There was mulled wine, mince pies and wonderful weed fritters for everyone. cooked by two very kind folk who stepped in when Helena had to take her place singing and Michaela helped serve

Our visitors munched the tasty treats and browsed the gallery helped by Jack.

They filled the platform with warmth

The choir now fully warmed up sang their hearts out
and were much appreciated raising £60.00 toward their funds

Our lovely deputy Mayor and Mayoress Jayne and Michaela where on hand to help, fully blinged up and looking wonderful.

It was the loveliest morning and the train left right on time to take our visitors and Santa on to Manchester.
A massive thank you to everyone who helped out, who came to join in, or just got off an earlier train and stayed to be part of the fun.
You all showed what incredible things come from sharing kindness.
