• We have now got full council cabinet approval to proceed with Ridge Community Orchard, although the first step is to do more consultation, but we’ll get there.
• We are also planning to run a competition in the spring in our local newspaper, called ‘Nuts About Fruit’ – we will invite groups of residents in any street in Lancaster to get together and agree to plant fruit trees in their gardens to share with each other in a kind of mini-orchard – we will be there to help them plant the trees and come back to provide advice on pruning etc – all they have to do is get together, write us 200 words about who they are and where and how they’ll get together and keep us in touch with photos of the trees/harvests/what they make.
• We did an Incredible Edible Walk for Lancaster Food Fortnight.
• We were part of the council Sustainability Partnership food growing awards.
• We’ve just got two more trustees.
Lancaster is going from strength to strength if you live in that area and would like to help you can contact the here
