Our Small Acre, by Esta
Last update: 6.01.09 First posted: 6.01.09 by Nick in ProduceOur small acre – Oak Hill Clough, Meadowbottom Road, Todmorden, owned by my partner Thomas Barker and myself, is a venture set to change our way of life. We already grow our own fruit and vegetables in terraces and beds and have recently given home to 13 apple trees of various varieties.
Our long term plan is to install bee hives for honey production, house 20 or so chickens for our own eggs and meat, create a cider apple orchard for homemade cider and hopefully run a small herb farm with any space that may be left – we also so have plans to cultivate mushrooms in the wooded area of our land… John Seymore eat your heart out!!!
