Pam talks to Penrith Action for Community Transition

I spoke to a group of really passionate people in Penrith about our work.
PACT Penrith Action for Community Transition had organised a full programme with a meeting at the Ullswater community college in the afternoon followed in the evening by a well publicised public meeting. What brilliant folks.
The teachers I met just bursted with great ideas about reconnecting the children of the area with local food. Would that all teachers were that inspirational and although it was clear the day job was full to overflowing there was no doubt that these people were prepared to go that extra mile to make sure their children were better prepared for an uncertain future.
Then in the evening the room was packed. IT was a bit of a challenge, but hey, a good story is a good story, pictures or no.
I was left in no doubt that Penrith will be at the forefront of demonstrating what a community can do to put local food and the environment centre stage . Big tick for people power.
