The train now standing at platform one…..

Stops at Todmorden on September 8th, this is no ordinary train, but the royal train bringing HRH the Prince of Wales on a tour of all things Incredible Edible. Mary will present IET volunteers and members of Tod in Bloom and to His Royal Highness who will visit the station art gallery, market the theatre and the health centre, meeting market traders and other folk along the way.

The train is truly incredible in it’s own right, run as it is on biodiesel and has been since 2007 when it made it completed its first ever journey run on 100 per cent biodiesel fuel. The Prince was the first member of the Royal Family to travel on the train since its conversion to run on fuel processed from waste vegetable oil. In true Totally locally style the fuel is produce by a Gloucestershire company and it was used in a four-month trial to assess the suitability of bio-fuel for mainline rail services. It is Incredible that the royal train trialled green fuel this way. Not only is this a tour of green initiative but is in itself green read more on the The Prince of Wales website.
There are photos of the train and more about the green fuel company who won the small business of the year award in 2006 here

HRH has also had his cars converted to bio fuel
