Tour de France 6: community events Cevenne style
Last update: 30.08.10 First posted: 23.08.10 by Nick in BlogsWe followed posters for a community “Fete Votive” in a tiny hill top town above the Allier river called St Privat. Think Heptonstall with sunshine.
We were expecting something small, hoping for something funny, what we did not count on was a real Rodeo with cowboys, local lads with big hats and real BULLS!!
We watched the main man dress his horse by our van whilst we cooked tea, and the whole town arrived, then Tintin and clint were off, tearing about the place like clint Eastwood. There was a clown too, fantastique, we’re having this in Tod, for deffo!

Video, not for the faint-hearted, our hero very nearly gets his bits stampeded into the sawdust!
Next morning at the annual car booty, Helena finds this weaving shuttle, we think ‘ahh, so this was a textile town,’ but no, when we questioned the stall-holder they really did not understand what it was, Watson!
