Incredible crowds at the Tod Show
Posted: Wednesday June 24, 2009 by HelenaWhat a fabulous turn-out at the Tod Show…The Incredible Edible tent was a popular destination for visitors to the show, and what a show we put on!

The schools competition was amazing…every conceivable vessel was found, planted up and displayed, each school had their own stand, and all were to be commended..The winner of the Malcolm Saville Trophy, presented by Mr Peter Oddy, was won by Todmorden C of E school.

All the school displays were fantastic, and great to see how innovative they all were

Beth’s Elderflower champagne was delicious, and soon sold out…

…and the apple press volunteers worked overtime to quench the thirst of our visitors..

Every Egg Matters, and it certainly did matter to Cllr David O’Neill and his lovely wife, who visited the stall to offer their support to our campaign.

Whilst a little visitor, who came all the way from Dublin to find out about IET, had fun encouraging the chicken to lay the egg!!

…and Todmorden in Bloom pulled out all the stops with their flourishing stall, manned by Chair, Norman Overend…

Wow!!!…it was an invigorating, energetic, long busy day for all the IET volunteeers, and what better to finish the day but a chance to demolish our incredibly edible cake…complete with real leeks!! Mmmmmm……

Many many thanks to everyone who helped, big or small, it was thrilling to see so many sectors of our community, pulling together towards a common cause and showing our visitors a little of what we are doing..And a big big thank you to Marianne Sutcliffe who was a fabulous organiser and did a brill job!!
