Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, takes Incredible tour
Posted: 24.04.10 by EstelleThe first lady Lord-Lieutenant in the north of England Dr Ingrid M Roscoe BA, PhD, FSA.
Visited Tod Thursday April 22nd. What a super lady, and Marshal Roscoe was fab.
I as a member of the Station Partnership with Matthew, Graham and other members of the partnership got to show her the station, including the library and the art gallery as well as the herb tubs and planting as an IET.
I managed to take a few photos here, which was good as I wasn’t able to later when we did the incredible tour.
So here is the lovely lady in the gallery

We walked through the town in the sunshine

To the Ormerod beds, and from there to the college where the raised beds made a good impression, the visitors asked so many pertinent questions. They were truly interested and wanted to know everything, hence my not having a chance to take photos at the beds.
We crossed the road and Lord Lieutenant was impressed even more by the fact that the police and fire service were both keen on having incredible edibles. the fact that the food was all to share captured everyone’s interest, they said that Tod had a real sense of community.
We finished with a visit to health centre and the kitchen physic garden, where the Lord-Lieutenant showed she new her stuff by identifying most of the herbs. Crossing the road to the Hippodrome we said our goodbyes and I left them to enjoy coffees and the fashion show.
What I thought was going to be possibly a touch on the formal side, turned out to be a really friendly educational and jolly afternoon, and the lady certainly understood the IET message.
Lovely lady, lovely day, and the sun shone down. Would happily do that all over again
