The Sustainable Development Commission have chosen Incredible Edible
Posted: Wednesday July 1, 2009 by EstelleAs you will have read in the newspaper articles, the Incredibles are in London today to present Incredible Communities project at an event attended by HRH the Prince of Wales.
The Sustainable Development Commission have chosen Incredible Edible Todmorden as one of 19 Breakthrough projects which could make a real difference to Britain’s sustainability and slow down climate change by reducing the carbon footprint created by food miles.
The idea behind the SDC’s Breakthroughs for the 21st Century is to identify projects that will make the biggest impact on Britain’s sustainability, combat climate change and the depletion of resources.
Out of 300 ideas submitted 19 were selected by SDC Commissioners as potential Breakthroughs.
These 19 present there ideas today at the event hosted by Anna Ford, Jonathan Dimbleby and Rosie Boycott, there will be hundreds of guests from all areas of business and academia, including green champions in their own right like Jonathan Porrit
The guest of honour is HRH the Prince of Wales.
So all you incredibles everywhere this is about your achievement, all of us as a community making this better.
