Growing around town

Within the town centre we have fruit, herbs and veggies dotted all around. Here are some of the places you can find them:

at the Health Centre we have re-vamped our wonderful Apothecary garden which runs between the car park and the canal. Where better to grow a garden full of health-promoting and medicinal plants than alongside the Health Centre? It’s open during daylight hours so do go and have a look around. Click here for more information about what’s growing there.

at the railway station, in the car park and on the west-bound platform

behind the market you can find the charming Pollination Street garden and planters

outside the college on Burnley Road where all of the planters are being replaced for 2016

in front of the Police Station

alongside the canal between the guillotine lock and the health centre – note in particular the willow-weaved bee-hive that kids love to ‘waggle’ through.

These all need planting, weeding and watering so if you’d like to help, please click here

We grow for anyone to pick and use. Go ahead, have some!
