Our growing community needs you

If you can, cook, grow, work with children, sew, administrate, do IT, are a tech, can write, design, or help make people feel at home, then we need you.

We particularly need people to join us on our gardening Sundays (see below) – you don’t need to know about gardening, just be willing to muck-in.

Whatever skills you have, you can be incredible

All IET community volunteers are unpaid, but having “volunteer at Incredible Edible Todmorden” on a CV can help when applying for paid work; that makes it win, win all round, so come and join us.

Some of the things you might like to volunteer for are-

Gardening – join us on the third Sunday of the month at 10am (and enjoy a free lunch after the session) or on the first Sunday of the month at 2pm. We meet at the Unitarian Church to pick up tools.

Communicator – someone to join Mary and Alan, Estelle and gathering campaign stories; recording people’s experiences; creative ways of documenting the journey of IET (film/multi -media)

IT Buff – to help with websites reasonable knowledge of IT needed. -training in our site format given

Tech Guru – nerd needed for help with all things computer related, sorry no training for this, but you may need to train us.

Small Business Promoter – to act as a link and support/ promotion for small local businesses either already set up or wanting to set up. Facilitate focus group for local producers

Events Organiser – someone to co-ordinate community events

Trainer/Tutor – willing to share skills, informally or formally with others about growing/ cooking/baking /producing food.

Promoters – people willing to stand on stalls at public events promoting IET – training provided

Tour Guides – folk with passion to be part of a group to be called on to take visitors around town – training provided.

Display Bod – to create and set up and organise displays for stalls and events.

Fund-raisingers – to come up with imaginative and exciting ways to bring in funds.

*Walsden Workers*- Help the new spin off company Incredible Farm with teaching or mentoring, marketing the produce, and general growing and gardening. Sound like you? email Beth

Apothecaries – Herbalist and herb specialists and anyone else with a working knowledge of herb growing, to be part of our Health Centre Growing team. Especially needed is someone to co-ordinate information and displays for use within the health centre, to educate about the Apothecary garden.

We just need lovely people, leaders, folk who are, caring and passionate about the planet, this may be YOU.
