MoorGreen veg tour of IETLast update: 8.10.16 First posted: 7.10.16 by Estelle in Tours
Today I met Grace a lovely lady from Walsden and a very game young lady called Bridgit and her partner from Nottingham. They run a growing project on 13 acres called Moor Green veg. What and inspiration Bridget is, when asked if she would like to go around the road to get on the canal instead of down the horse tunnel she declined and down we went, what a brave gal.
I would like to say we built these market hall planters with wheelchairs in mind but tat wouldn’t be true.
but this will be a consideration in future as Bridget showed they are perfect for anyone in a chair to pick from.
The police station beds were equally good
The weather just about stayed dry, though it did drizzle a bit, nothing could dampen our spirits we learned a lot from each other and it was sad to part.
I think we will hear a lot of good things about MoorGreen veg at it goes from strength to strength, so watch this space.
come to one of our regular sessions on the first and third Sundays of every month, we meet at 10am at Todmorden Unitarian, Honey Hole to collect tools and then go to wherever work is needed, we return at 12 to eat a free lunch together.
